Time and again, risk managers and underwriters experience a very real pain – the pain of using dozens to hundreds of different data sources (Excel spreadsheets, Access databases and paper) to perform policy administration, underwriting, and exposure tracking. And the pain continues when they try to get any type of consolidated view of the entire book of business for reporting and analysis.
Is there a better way? Can you consolidate multiple platforms and eliminate disparate data sources? Can you simplify your workflow? Can you operate on one consistent platform? The answer is Yes.

Dublin, Ireland, March 1, 2011 - FINEOS Corporation, a market leading provider of claims management software solutions for Insurance and Government Insurance, has been honored at this year’s Insurance Canada.ca Technology Awards (ICTA).  FINEOS customer, Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI), won the ICTA for P&C Insurer – Claims, while FINEOS received an Honorable Mention in the P&C Technology Provider category, also for Claims. Both companies were recognized at a reception last night at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto following the conclusion of the 2011 Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Conference. The awards highlight and celebrate technologies that have shown the greatest positive impact on the business of Insurance in Canada.

“We are pleased to name MPI & FINEOS in the P&C Claims category. MPI is a great example of how an insurer can use technology - in this case from FINEOS - in the claims arena to provide leading edge tools for its people as they endeavour to provide the best service and solutions for their customers. After all, claims is the  delivery point for the insurance product, and this is about MPI people better serving Manitoba's people at a time when they need help,” commented Doug Grant, principal with Insurance-Canada.ca.

MPI uses FINEOS Claims to provide integrated claim case management functions and automated business processes which are important for complex claims requiring rehabilitation to reduce time to return to work.  It is utilized by more than 400 MPI users over 17 sites across Manitoba. The BI3 application, as it is known internally in MPI, is involved in every component of the claims business lifecycle from first notice of loss and triage, to claims evaluation and the setting of reserves and pre-authorizations, through claims management and rehabilitation planning to file closure.

Rob Haithwaite, Director, Injury Claims Management, accepted the award on behalf of MPI.  "I’m delighted for the team at MPI who worked so hard to bring this project to life. We believe we now have one of the best Personal Injury claims systems in Canada and that our FINEOS solution is helping us achieve operational excellence while providing value and enhanced customer service for all Manitobans”.

Michael Kelly, CEO, FINEOS Corporation added, “We’d also like to congratulate MPI on achieving this accolade.  We see this as a testament to the functional breadth of the FINEOS Claims solution, the implementation success of our project team and the innovative way in which leading insurers are using our technology to achieve their business goals”.
